Madhur Bhandarkar reveals wanting Shah Rukh Khan in and as Inspector Ghalib; says, “Pandemic aa gaya, then we lost contact”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar a few weeks ago grabbed the headline that he could be teaming up with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for an action film Inspector Ghalib.

Madhur Bhandarkar stated that the script of the film has not been looked up and will be revived someday. He also went on to reveal that script of the film didn’t progress because the pandemic halted its process and they lost contact. Speaking about it to Pinkvilla about making that film with SRK, he said, “Woh rakhi hai picture. It was a very good script. I have always wanted to make that film, and it was a beautiful subject. It’s about a cop in UP. Woh world achha tha. Hua nahi wo. Pandemic aa gaya, then we lost contact. Aur fir maine aise hi rakhi script.”

He further added that he will surely revisit the script of Inspector Ghalib, and said, “But definitely I’ll revisit sometime. I would like to make that film. It’s an action-packed film but again, in a real zone. It’s a very topical subject, It’s an action film, but bohot achha subject hai. I’ll work on it. I may revive it someday when I feel I should make Inspector Ghalib. Definitely main banaunga.”

Madhur Bhandarkar is well known for his films such as Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, Traffic Signal, Jail and Heroine. On the work front, he has recently announced his new project Wives of Bollywood a few months ago.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in the film The King, helmed by Siddharth Anand. It also stars SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan.
